The InfoCons App is a comprehensive tool that aims to empower consumers by providing essential information right at their fingertips. It offers valuable insights into food products, electrical appliances, and various non-food items available in your area. Moreover, it includes emergency contact numbers from across the globe.
Through the InfoCons app, users can access a vast database by simply scanning the barcode of a food product or the QR code of an electrical appliance. Alternatively, they can utilize the search feature on the main screen for quick information retrieval.
Upon successfully identifying a food product, users gain access to detailed options including general information, ingredients list, allergen highlights, calorie calculator, EU warnings, personalized preference markers, save functionality, recycling options, complaint submission form, and a feature to provide missing details.
For electronic appliances, users can discover general product information, manufacturer details, energy consumption calculator, and a product comparison widget.
The "Saved products" section allows logged-in users to review their saved items and scan log, enabling a comprehensive analysis of nutritional values such as salt, sugar content, additives, and calories.
In addition to consumer-centric features, the app also offers an SOS section housing emergency contact numbers worldwide.
InfoCons is a non-governmental organization dedicated to consumer protection and upholds democratic principles in defending consumer rights. It is an apolitical and non-profit entity that serves as a founding member of the Federation of Consumer Associations.
